4 May 2005

If you have one of the latest Vodafone live! 3G-enabled phones you will now be able to download all of the goals from all of the games in the concluding stages of the UEFA Champions League. By accessing either the Sport category of the Audio & Video category on the Vodafone live! 3G content portal, 3G subscribers can get access to all of the latest news from the world’s premier football competition. From your mobile, you can find out in an instant who scored, who got injured, who is out and who is causing controversy. You can also get all of the matchday results minutes after the conclusion of the games and you can get a full fixtures list right through from the first round to the quarter finals, semi finals and final.

The service also offers information on the season’s top players including stats on Dutch players Ruud Van Nistelrooij and Roy Makaay. For those football fans interested in the history of this very prestigious competition, the service is packed full with information on previous winners and great players.

Quite apart from the text and picture services, it is the video dimension that makes Vodafone’s live 3G UEFA Champions League, a must-have service on your mobile phone. The service offers in-match goal action for every goal scored and the video content is available to download 20 minutes after they have been scored in the match. This is different from the Barclays Premiership video content where goals are available as part of match highlights after the games have finished.

The UEFA Champions League video goal clips are up to 15 seconds in length. After full time, subscribers can download a 1 to 1 minute 30 seconds video review of each game played. On top of this, on the Friday after each match day, a weekly summary clip will be available that synopsises all of the match action from that week. This video clip will be up to 3 minutes in length. There is also an archive of previous matches where all the goals, match highlights and weekly reviews for all the games played in this year’s tournament are available to be viewed by subscribers.
