Central Databank, a full-service electronic data storage and retrieval service, has signed up The Motherboard Group as a priority reseller for its online storage facilities. Motherboard is the second reseller to be appointed by Central Databank.

Eric Hardiman, chief operations officer, welcomed the addition of Motherboard to his reseller panel. ‘Motherboard has established itself as a key SME IT services company with a strong focus on data recovery from corrupt media such as disks and tapes. By reselling our product, Motherboard has a direct solution to these issues, removing once and for all the Achilles’ heel of storage—physical storage media that is often old and mistreated.

‘By migrating to our WAN/Central solution, Motherboard’s customers can leave the headache of storage behind them. Those customers in particular who have experienced disasters and faults will welcome a solution that does not require in-house management.’

Motherboard’s background is in network infrastructure design and maintenance. As Ivan Scott, managing director of Motherboard explains: ‘We provide and install broadband solutions for many of our clients and it is an easy step to integrate the Central Databank solution into these networks.

‘Many of our customers are keen to ensure backup is done on a daily or even hourly basis but do not have the resources to maintain the level of storage they would like. By offering the WAN/Central solution our customers do not need to compromise their requirements and save money as they only pay for the storage that they need. Peace of mind all round!’

The utility storage solution offered by Central Databank does not require the customer to install expensive software or hardware in their offices. The only cost is how much data they backup. The backup can be done using a 56kbit/s modem over ordinary copper.

Backing up with Central Databank costs from about€0.01/Mbyte. Entry level customers start at €15 a month and this figure only increases if the amount of data being backed up increases.

Central Databank has opted to sell the service through resellers and partners. Resellers include household names such as Hosting365.ie, Smart Telecom. CentricIT and Motherboard.
