Storage service provider, Central Databank has selected Interxion to host its IT infrastructure and SAN equipment at Interxion’s data centre in Dublin. Under the terms of the three-year, EUR700,000 deal, Interxion will also be responsible for monitoring and managing the equipment on a 24/7 basis.
Central Databank, established in 2002, also has the flexibility within the contract to expand its cage and rack space as demand grows. The company had previously housed its equipment at Data Electronics. Interxion will also operate as a key node element to the fully redundant fibre network that Central Databank has rolled out in conjunction with Smart Telecom.
To ensure proper environmental control, a service level agreement has been drawn up to meet Central Databank’s exact requirements, including guarantees on power supplies and ambient temperature.
‘Businesses have become more dependent on online data. As strict legislation is introduced to protect the integrity of this information, it is increasingly important that data is backed up securely with policy driven plans in place in the event of data loss or disaster,’ said Eric Hardiman, COO at Central Databank. ‘Interxion provides Central Databank and our customers with the peace of mind that this is always possible through the 24/7 provision of power, connectivity and guaranteed levels of service availability.’
Anthony Foy, group MD of Interxion, said that having data centres located across Europe also offered Central Databank the opportunity to expand operations easily.
