Managed services provider Calyx has won exclusive rights to distribute Cyber-Ark Software across Ireland. Cyber-Ark specialises in securing and managing privileged identities and sensitive information.

Compliancy demands have recently seen significant growth in the privileged identity management market.

Calyx MD John Ryan points out that “privileged users can be either the unsung heroes or the undiscovered villains within organisations, given their exclusive usage and access rights to critical corporate systems.”

He said Cyber-Ark’s Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Highly-Sensitive Information Management suites could help firms prevent insider fraud, data breaches and failed IT audits by fully automating the process that controls and monitors shared accounts, which are often anonymous and are typically shared among administrators, developers and contractors.

With the Cyber-Ark digital vault solution, users are identified, managed and tracked – enabling a company to provide an audit trail and thus meet the growing number of compliancy requirements.

Ryan notes: “While the identity and access management market is driven primarily by compliance issues, a properly deployed PIM implementation can perform the dual function of helping IT to meet security and compliance demands without adding significantly to the day-today tasks.”

Cyber-Ark’s customers include AstraZeneca, Roche, Motorola, Orange, Rabobank, and Standard Bank.

• Cyber-Ark’s Mark Fullbrook will speak at Calyx’s half-day security seminar on 15 October in Dublin’s Westbury Hotel. It spotlights security during a recession.
