It’s the second part of our triple whammy budget today and this time it’s the turn of finance minister Michael Noonan to deliver the bad news. According to the rumourmill today we can expect increases in taxes on savings and rent income, a VAT hike, a household charge of €100 and a raising of the bands for the universal social charge to take pressure off lower income homes.

On the plus side word is there will be no increase in income tax. The question from this quarter is if there is to be any news for small businesses.

Updates as we get them.
