A new study is looking for volunteers to create a picture of the true state of broadband connectivity in Ireland. The public-driven campaign will measure every aspect of Internet performance, which will then be used to create an accurate picture and detailed report of the country’s Internet landscape.
The study will be carried out by SamKnows, which, since its foundation in 2008, has worked with the Federal Communications Commission, the European Commission, Singapore IDA and governments in the UK and Brazil.
Participants will be provided with a custom-built Whitebox and will be sent monthly progress updates showing individual metrics in real time.
Alex Salter, CEO, SamKnows, said: “Those taking part will join an exclusive group around the world changing the world’s broadband. The data our chosen consumers supply provides a clearer understanding of the broadband available to them, as well as ensuring the country’s Internet service providers can change for the better.”
