A managed print service deal between HP and AIB now sees the IT firm provision, support and manage the bank’s print infrastructure. This should save 30% in printing costs while reducing by 50% the bank’s carbon emissions resulting from printing at its Dublin head office.
AIB’s printer, copier and fax fleet evolved to a ratio of one device for every four staff in its main office, with myriad vendors supplying and supporting the hardware.
Realising it needed to more efficiently manage costs, the bank has centralised its core print activity, ensuring secure document printing and photocopying while reducing operational risk.
HP Ireland MD Martin Murphy noted: “Our customers continuously tell us about the multiple benefits of HP Managed Print Services (MPS).”
The rationalisation has raised the ratio of staff per device from four to 12 employees, which is hoped will in time be improved to 1-15.
