Avaya the communications systems company is planning on creating 75 new jobs in Galway. Recruitment has already begun for the new positions which will be in the areas of research, development, engineering, finance, IT and administrative support. The jobs will be based in Avaya’s new Customer Experience Centre which was officially opened in early April by Avaya’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA) president Michael Bayer.
Bayer commented that, “Avaya is aggressively expanding our market research in Europe by driving our global leadership in the areas of contact centres and unified communications solutions to businesses throughout the country.” Bayer added that, ”we are currently recruiting new employees as quickly as possible to help Avaya as it further expands throughout Europe.”
Avaya which specialises in communications development employ 20,000 people worldwide and currently employ 275 people in their bases in Galway and Sandyford, Dublin.
Barry O’Leary of IDA has welcomed the news stating that, “today’s announcement demonstrates to the internation community that key players in the technology industry are continuing their investment in Ireland.”
