ARVR Innovate expo and conference to point way for businesses to deploy immersive technologies
In association with ARVR Innovate
Immersive technologies like augmented, virtual and mixed reality are finally on the cusp of a breakthrough in adoption at business and enterprise level in Ireland. Hardly surprising given many studies that point to dramatic productivity savings in sectors such as manufacturing and healthcare, and dramatic improvements in learning in training environments using virtual reality technologies.
The ecosystem for immersive technologies has received a huge boost with the entry last year of Apple into the market with the Vision Pro headset. A recent development has been the launch of a representative group for the sector in Ireland called Eirmersive aims to showcase the potential of the sector to both industry and government alike, and is made up of a number of companies with solutions for both business and consumer end-markets.
Against the backdrop of this expansion, this year’s ARVR Innovate conference and exhibition, taking place in the RDS, Dublin on Wednesday 8 May, will again offer delegates to hear from leading international and domestic speakers who will illustrate practical best-case deployment of AR and VR in business. In the enterprise and industrial space, there are a growing number of validated studies that show often remarkable impacts of the technologies in improving worker productivity and accuracy. A particular area of focus will be how remote assistance is now being facilitated by augmented reality.
Training is predicted to be one of the largest growth areas for virtual reality in particular. The ability to virtually train employees in what would otherwise be hazardous contexts, such as fire training, is an obvious area for growth. This year’s conference will feature a number of speakers, and demoing companies including sponsor VRAI, with a focus on this dimension of immersive technology use.
ARVR Innovate was recently listed by Veer VR as one the top international immersive technology conferences. As well as attracting Irish delegates, has welcomed a growing number of overseas visitors, including official delegations from UK bodies Invest Wales and Invest North East. This year the Augmented Reality Enterprise Alliance will partner with the conference to run a dedicated panel discussion on using AR in enterprise, addressing the challenges at both boardroom, manager and employee level to faster deployment.
Keynoting this year is Monica Ares, the executive director of Innovation, Digital Education, & Analytics (IDEA) Lab, Imperial College London, who will explore the intersection of AI and immersive technologies. This year also see the introduction of a new feature in Pitch Perfect, where budding start-ups in the immersive technology space will be able to present their concepts to leading investors.
ARVR Inovate takes place on Wednesday, 8 May in the RDS, and more information and booking information are available at www.arvrinnovate.com.
