Apple has officially announced its thinnest iPhone ever: the iPhone Air. The casing is made of titanium and has a thickness of just 5.6mm.

Apple says the titanium construction is more durable than previous iPhones and more resistant to wear and tear. Furthermore, these models feature: a C1X modem, new proprietary hardware that is up to twice as fast than the original C1 model, with 30% less power consumption than the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro. Also, an A19 Pro chip, which Apple says offers performance power at the level of a MacBook Pro – in an iPhone. Also present: a 6.5″ ProMotion display with up to 3,000 nits brightness and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Available in four colours: space black, cloud white, light gold and sky blue.

The regular iPhone 17 has a larger 6.3″ display with ProMotion technology, which offers always-on support and achieves brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Under the bonnet, the new A19 chip provides significantly faster performance, with a GPU about 20% faster than that of the iPhone 16. Battery life has been improved, offering up to eight hours of video playback, even when using the display intensively.

The cameras have also been updated; the main camera uses a 48MP dual fusion system that stores images at 24MP by default, while the ultra-wide-angle lens also offers higher resolution. The front camera is a 12MP Centre Stage lens with a larger sensor, allowing for high-quality selfies and video calls. The device is available in five fresh colours: black, white, blue, sage green and purple.

Apple also officially presented the iPhone 17 Pro. This model features an aluminium unibody casing, instead of titanium, for a lighter device with better heat dissipation. New colour accents are cosmic orange, deep blue and silver. The powerful A19 Pro chip is combined with a so-called vapor-chamber cooling system for more effective heat management during heavy use. The Ceramic Shield glass is on both the front and back for extra durability.

Further, Apple confirms that iOS 26 will officially become available to all users on Monday 15 September 2025.

Apple Watch

Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch SE 3, equipped with the fast S10 chip. This generation offers more comprehensive health features than its predecessor, including sleep scoring, ovulation estimates based on previous data, notifications in case of possible sleep apnoea and pulse temperature readings for additional insights in the Vital Functions app.

Despite the new always-on display, the battery still lasts a full day: up to 18 hours according to Apple. Thanks to support for fast charging, you can charge the Watch up to twice as fast as before. A 15-minute charge gives you enough power for about eight hours of use, and in 45 minutes the battery is at about 80%.

The Apple Watch SE 3 builds on existing health and safety features, such as heart health notifications, Cycle Keeping, cardiorespiratory fitness measurements, fall detection, accident detection, SOS emergency notifications, and check-in.

The smartwatch is available to order now in Australia, Canada, Germany, France, India, Japan, UAE, UK, US and more than 50 other countries and regions. The Apple Watch SE 3 will be in shops from Friday 19 September, with a starting price of €269.

Apple also unveiled the Watch Ultra 3, which also allows you to alert emergency services via satellite. With SOS emergency notification via satellite on Apple Watch Ultra 3, you can send a message to emergency services and alert your SOS contacts with a few taps. If you’ve been in a serious car accident in a remote location or fallen hard and become unresponsive, Apple Watch Ultra 3 can automatically share information about your situation and location with emergency services and your SOS contacts, provided your Watch has a clear view of a satellite.

Ultra 3 is the ultimate watch for athletes and adventurers, according to Apple. This model features the largest screen of any Apple Watch, a display with an always-on refresh rate of 1Hz, and a battery that lasts up to 42 hours, and up to 72 hours in Power Save mode.

The LTPO3 display uses energy more efficiently, giving Apple Watch Ultra 3 a faster refresh rate in always-on mode: once per second instead of once per minute. That means you can watch the seconds tick away without lifting your wrist. There is also the new watch face Route Point, with a compass so you can easily find your way around.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3’s battery lasts up to 42 hours, enough for sports and everyday use. And for longer adventures, the battery lasts up to 72 hours in Power Saving Mode. Apple Watch Ultra 3 offers up to 20 hours of battery life for continuous tracking of outdoor workouts in energy saver mode with GPS and heart rate monitoring on. And after 15 minutes of fast charging, your Watch can last for another 12 hours or so.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 with a natural or black titanium case is available from €899.

AirPods Pro

In addition to new iPhones and Apple Watches we got the AirPods Pro 3. Among other things, the fit has been redesigned, allowing AirPods Pro 3 to stay better in your ear during activities such as running, HIIT, yoga and more. Another first: you can now use AirPods Pro 3 to measure your heart rate and capture more than 50 types of workouts in the revamped Fitness app on iPhone.

AirPods Pro 3 have a new acoustic architecture with multiple ports. This, according to Apple, regulates the airflow that carries sound into your ear canal with extreme precision for an exceptional listening experience. The sound is more spacious so you can distinguish each individual instrument, and you’ll hear clearer voices at higher frequencies when listening to music, TV shows and phone calls.

Apple based its design on a study of more than 10,000 ear scans with over 100,000 hours of user data. The inside has been completely redesigned, making each AirPod smaller and the outside is better aligned with the central part, which improves stability.

The AirPods Pro 3 will be in shops from 19 September, priced €249.
