As part of Repak Recycling Week (3-11 October), Repak has launched an iPhone app that will direct you to your nearest recycling bring bank. Called Recyclemore search, the app was developed in association with 34 Local Authorities, geocoding 2,000 recycling sites nationally.

The app uses a GPS locator on iPhone to find nearest recycling facilities, which can be filtered by material type or size type (bottle bank or recycling centre).
Users can also enter a competition for an iPhone 4.

3D4Medical is a Ballsbridge-based company specialising in application development for the healthcare sector. If you’re familiar with Apple’s iPad: Year One commercial you’ll have seen their work in a clinical setting where a doctor takes a patient through an x-ray image.

The company has developed applications for a variety of anatomical areas including the brain, muscle system, heart and skeleton system and there are plans to expand into disease states, conditions, tests and procedures.

The free app provides students with exclusive local deals of the week, all of which can be redeemed from your Nokia handset. The UCC Students’ Union app will also be bring the latest student news and entertainment, as well as updates on events around the campus.

Nokia also has variants available for DIT, UCD and Trinity College Dublin.
