Cinemagraph
For: Windows Phone
Cinemagraph is a camera app that adds simple animation to still photographs. Just select an area of a picture you want to animate and let the prompts guide you through the process. Your results could be as simple as making a dog wag its tail or making a butterfly flap its wings.
Once your picture is complete, you can share your results direct from the app to social media, e-mail and instant messages. More daring users could even stretch to animating shadows, making candles flicker or have hair blown by a subtle breeze.
Fitbit Activity Tracker
For: Android, iOS
Personal health gadgets Fitbit One and Fitbit Zip have had their Android apps updated to sync over Bluetooth 4.0 on selected devices like the Samsung Galaxy S III.
Already available on iOS, the app allows Zip and One owners to use their smartphone or tablet as their dashboard, giving real-time progress updates and access to Fitbit’s graphs and tools.
Users can set goals, see stats updated, and track progress in real time. As the Fitbits sync wirelessly throughout the day, users also receive notifications when they are close to their goals and, when they meet their goals, to celebrate achievements.
TuneIn Radio Pro
For: iOS (iPad)
The gold standard for radio apps, TuneIn Radio’s paid version for iPad retains the same massive catalogue of radio stations and podcasts but has a new design, improved stability and no ads. More important, it will resume playback of podcasts and recordings from where you left them, saving the hassle of starting over.
