AMD Aware takes pictures from your camera and manipulates them to show hiow the world looks to a person with sight loss

There are approximately 22,000 people in Ireland living with sight loss as a result of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD Aware puts the user in the shows the user how the world appears to someone suffering from deteriorating eyesight.
Pictures taken by the user which show what it’s like to have different stages of the disease and these can also be shared with friends and family to generate greater awareness on what it means to live with the condition. The app also provides information on what AMD is, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.

National Transport Authority Journey Planner
For: Windows Phone
The National Transport Authority’s Journey Planner provides timetable and map information from all licensed public transport providers across Ireland. It provides plans for trains, buses, trams, ferry, and taxi services and combines them into easy to read journey plans.
The app provides door-to-door route plans and has information about scheduled departures and trips near your current location and from any specified point.

Sound Search
For: Android
Google have finally gotten around to integrating its music store with their own music recognition app. Granted Apple hasn’t one of their own, yet, but it has plenty of third parties lie Shazam and Sound Hound to work with. One benefit of Google’s entry is that you can sync results across all your Android devices, but user reviews say if you like your music on the experimental side you might be better served elsewhere.
