Anthropic, an American technology start-up specialising in generative AI, is accelerating its presence in Europe. The company plans to open new offices in Paris and Munich, in addition to its existing European locations in London, Dublin, and Zurich. This expansion reflects Anthropic’s recognition of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region as its fastest-growing market.

Anthropic attributes this rapid growth to an increase in the number of high-spending customers. The company says this client segment has grown more than tenfold over the past year. Chris Ciauri, Anthropic’s international president, highlighted Europe’s position as a hub for innovative and influential companies and stressed that the expansion will help meet growing demand from European users.

According to Anthropic, Germany and France rank in the top 20 countries worldwide for per capita usage of Claude. The company names leading European businesses such as L’Oréal, BMW, SAP, and Sanofi among its current subscribers. These companies use Claude for crucial tasks like writing new software code, improving existing software, and solving network issues.
