Amazon puts .ie website live
Amazon.ie has opened a dedicated site for Ireland. The opening had been announced last December with the appointment of Alison Dunn as country manager for Ireland.
Customers will enjoy one-day delivery on millions of products, and can browse products with clear, local pricing and without additional customs charges. Irish businesses including Barry’s Tea, Bewley’s, and Ella & Jo will soon be available through a page dedicated to Irish brands developed in association with Enterprise Ireland.
Starting today, customers can also join Prime on Amazon.ie for €6.99 per month, and enjoy the very best of shopping, savings and entertainment – including fast, free delivery, exclusive deals and shopping events like Prime Day, award-winning TV shows, movies and live sport including the UEFA Champions League on Prime Video, free games on Prime Gaming, and exclusive offers with partners including Odeon cinemas and Deliveroo. UK Prime members in Ireland can switch to the local service, and will automatically have their UK membership cancelled and refunded when they do so. All customers, including those who are switching from a UK membership, can try Amazon.ie Prime by signing up for a 30-day free trial.

Amazon employs around 6,500 people in Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda in a diverse range of roles including data engineers, operations management, and finance. Since 2004, Amazon has made direct investments of more than €22 billion, and opened six sites across the country, including a fulfilment centre in Dublin’s Baldonnell Business Park, a delivery station in Ballycoolin, data centres, and corporate offices in Cork and Dublin.
