Cable & Wireless’s network infrastructure services group, ALLnet, has opened a new base of operations in Northern Ireland.

The company opened a new office in Dundonald, on the outskirts of Belfast, a move that now means it can service customers throughout the UK and Ireland.

‘Our extensive network of offices means that we can support customers seeking common services in Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland and the UK,’ Karl Hodgen, business development manager, Northern Ireland, ALLnet.

ALLnet was created in 2002 by merger of a number of Cable & Wireless integrators in the UK and Ireland–Grant & Taylor, BTN, ML Integration, ML Careline, Cable & Wireless Systems Integration Ireland and ALLnet. The company employs more than 500 staff based in ten locations throughout the UK and Ireland with approximately 100 professional and engineering staff based in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

‘We welcome the increased capability that ALLnet will bring to the local market,’ said Mike Mills, president of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  ‘Northern Ireland’s ability to attract multi-national investment is strongly influenced by the availability of strong and competitive local service providers – especially in the communications and network infrastructure marketplace.’
