Epson’s AcuLaser C8600 is a colour printer for the business and graphics user.

It can output in full colour or mono on a variety of media formats from C5 to A3W. It offers a true resolution of 600dpi, but Epson’s AcuLaser Fine Dot Control technology boosts the printer’s true optical resolution to 2400 dpi by controlling the size and position of the dot on the page for higher print quality.

It outputs at 8 page/min in colour and 35 page/min in mono, and has a first colour print time of 19.6s.

The AcuLaser C8600PS is fully compatible with Adobe PostScript 3, making it suitable for graphic users who require high-quality results with crop marks. It is ideal for concept or design proofing and desktop publishing.

Other features include versatile paper handling and optional duplex printing. A 150-sheet multi purpose tray comes as standard, with options to expand up to 1,400 sheets via two optional 500 sheet cassettes and double sided printing is available via an optional duplex unit.

The printer uses AcuLaser Adaptive Data Compression to eliminate the bottlenecks in processing colour documents caused by information processing and to improve total throughput time. It adapts different compression algorithms depending on the type of object on the page to be printed: Text, images or line drawings.
