Following an announcement last year where the company committed to creating 100 new, high value jobs, Accenture has announced the establishment of an Accenture Analytics Innovation Centre at its Grand Canal Plaza offices.

The centre is backed by IDA Ireland and will form part of a global network of nine innovation centres focused on the demonstration, research, development and delivery of predictive analytics for business.

The positions employ people with backgrounds in statistic modelling and management science that will deliver compliance and fraud related analytics solutions to clients worldwide, addressing many of the key business challenges facing the public and private sector today, such as fraud, waste and error. The centre will also function as a global showcase for Accenture to demonstrate its analytical capabilities to clients from around the world.

The other analytics centres in the network are located in Bangalore, Chicago, Milan, Mumbai, New Delhi and San Jose, California, and most recently, Barcelona.

“I am delighted to officially open the Accenture Analytics Innovation Centre here in Dublin,” said Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD. “High-end, international professional services is a sector in which Ireland has a strong reputation, and we must be ambitious about attracting further jobs and growth in this area. I am determined that government will do everything it can to ensure that this sector grows to its potential, creating the highly-skilled jobs that we need and making a significant contribution to Ireland’s recovery.”

“IDA recognises the importance of analytics as the next generation in business intelligence and this centre is an important and welcome addition to the key growth area of technology services in Ireland,” commented said Barry O’Leary, chief executive, IDA Ireland.

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of IDA Ireland,” said Mark Ryan, country managing director, Accenture Ireland, “this country now has a growing reputation as a global hub for technology research and innovation, with Accenture being one of several companies to recently choose Ireland as an investment location, ahead of other countries. Ireland already has a skilled workforce and we must focus on retaining our strong skills base which helps drive R&D related investments locally.”
