Abbey Logic, a provider of technical services on the IBM System i platform, has been appointed the Irish partner for Interform, a specialist in document management software process automation for the IBM System i platform.
The product suite, Interform400, is in service with over a dozen Irish System i users, a number expected to rise, says Abbey.
InterForm400 lets customers slash time and money spent on printing and document-handling by automating such processes as invoicing and data output from applications in their IBM System i environment. It handles the entire document workflow from customer’s iSeries servers without any need to re-program applications.
Abbey Logic will work with customers to deploy the solution and will provide long-term support as InterForm’s Irish partner.
Abbey MD Michael Hannigan notes: “InterForm400 gives customers freedom in designing, handling, distributing and archiving documents.”
He said that, with every business prioritising cost-cutting, the ability to slash printing costs while making document output more efficient “fits in very well with the objectives of every IT department, and indeed with the more widespread worldwide Green IT initiatives.”
“Savings can be achieved by eliminating pre-printed stationary, reducing or eliminating paper handling and delivering documents by e-mail.” He said that up to €2 could be saved per document. “Based on this, an organisation printing just a few hundred documents monthly could easily achieve payback in less than a year.”
“Over the next six months we will be announcing a number of customer case studies where Interform400 is helping to deliver key strategic IT goals while cutting costs significantly.”
Hannigan listed other benefits as the ability to design output, sort pages, split pages or copy select pages to alternate output queue. “Output includes mono or colour laser printer, PDF, e-mail or fax.”
