Google is introducing a new feature in Gmail that allows users to manage and cancel their newsletter subscriptions more easily. Soon, a new menu called Manage Subscriptions will appear in the left sidebar of Gmail. Here, users will get an overview of all active newsletters and mailing lists they are subscribed to, including information on how often they have recently received e-mails from those senders.

From this central overview, users can unsubscribe from one or more newsletters with a single click. The familiar Unsubscribe button will also remain visible in individual emails, next to the sender. Depending on the sender, the unsubscription will be processed directly via Gmail or through the sender’s external website. It may take a few days for the unsubscription to be fully processed.

If you want to be absolutely sure that unwanted messages no longer appear, you can also mark the e-mails as spam. This helps Gmail better recognise similar unwanted emails in the future, although this action does not actually unsubscribe you – for that, you need to use the unsubscribe feature.

The new feature is being rolled out now in the web version of Gmail. For Android devices, the rollout will start on 14 July 2025, and for iOS, it will follow on 21 July 2025. Full availability may take up to 15 days. The feature will be available for personal Google accounts, as well as for users of Google Workspace and Workspace Individual.
