Cyber security provider eCom has strengthened its technical capabilities after two senior engineers completed the Fortinet certified expert (FCX) certification.

Folowing the completion, eCom joins a global community of fewer than 400 cybersecurity professionals, earned following an intensive 10-month preparation period that culminated in passing both the rigorous written examination and challenging all-day laboratory practical assessment.

This achievement comes shortly after eCom was named Fortinet’s OT partner of the year, further cementing the company’s position as a leading cyber security partner in the region.

The FCX certification, formerly known as NSE 8, represents the pinnacle of Fortinet’s technical certification programme and is widely regarded as equivalent to Cisco’s CCIE certification in terms of difficulty and industry recognition. The accreditation recognises comprehensive expertise in network security design, configuration, and troubleshooting for complex enterprise environments.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team’s achievement,” said eCom CEO Sean Martin. “This certification represents not just our consultant’s individual dedication and technical excellence, but also demonstrates our organisation’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cyber security expertise. Having two FCX-certified professionals in Ireland positions eCom as a clear leader in advanced network security implementation.”

Paul Donegan, country manager for Ireland with Fortinet, said: “Having a partner like eCom invest in Fortinet training to such a comprehensive level is a real milestone for our partnership in Ireland. The FCX certification is Fortinet’s highest and most prestigious level of Certification, validating expert-level knowledge in network security design, configuration, and troubleshooting for complex networks.

“This demonstrates a candidate’s ability to handle advanced security challenges and implement best practices using Fortinet solutions in real world, mission-critical environments.”

“Achieving FCX certification whilst maintaining our day-to-day client commitments required significant dedication,” Martin noted. “Our team’s success demonstrates the calibre of technical talent within eCom and our commitment to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.”
