Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ latest Amilo A notebook PC is built around the mobile AMD Athlon XP processor running at speeds up to 1.8GHz. The new notebook is available now starting from EUR1,499. One of the features of the mobile AMD Athlon XP processor is its Power Now! technology which minimises processor power consumption and maximises battery life, while delivering performance on demand.
ATI’s RADEON IGP 320M integrated mobile graphics chipset provides multimedia capabilities such as high-performance 3D graphics and support for enhanced motion picture applications like DVD playback. It provides up to 128Mbyte dedicated video memory (depending on total system memory) and also includes TV-out support.For large data transfers up to 400Mbit/s, a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port is integrated. Three USB ports provide connection to peripherals, external storage devices and video equipment. Customers can choose between 14.1in and 15in TFT displays with XGA resolutions.
The screen content can also be displayed on a standard TV or data projector through the S-Video port. The AMILO A has an integrated floppy disk drive and is available with built-in DVD or Combo CD-RW/DVD drive. Two SO-DIMM slots can be equipped with up to 1Gbyte DDR SDRAM. A mini PCI modem and on-board LAN are included.
