Deli Meats distributes to various retail outlets in Dublin and beyond. The firm needed a wireless solution to increase efficiency, cut costs, and improve stock visibility.

Using the Socket Bluetooth Cordless Serial Adapter, Computer Control Solutions was able to provide Deli Meats with a fast and simple way for mobile workers to send invoices, stock reconciliation and order details to printers in the company’s vans. Bluetooth enabled PDAs are used to send sales and stock data to the adapter dongles attached to printers in the vans.

Each adapter has a unique identifier, making it possible to assign the PDAs to a specific printer to ensure that information reaches the intended destination. Operations Manager Sean Casey said: “Our drivers can now wirelessly communicate sales and stock information without having to return to a delivery van to dock their PDA in a cradle. The added mobility has significantly increased productivity and savings throughout our organisation.”
