Acer has just released its v200 series of portable navigation devices for the Consumer market. The new v200 GPS series is designed as a smart and portable navigation solution featuring pre-installed maps – either country maps or European map – that is easily placed in any car, or moved from one car to another, and is also compact enough to be carried away in a pocket once the user has arrived at the chosen destination. Once switched on, the v200 shows a main navigation screen: from there, with just one click, the user enters the destination and is ready go. For UK GPS users Acer has included a special “7 digit post code” entry. With a super-handy pedestrian mode, the v200 is happy to accompany you all the way to your destination, even if you can’t use the car to get there, and can also help you find your car on the way back. The v200 is equipped with the latest map material, supports 18 languages, features a fast processor and comes with the Powerful Trip Planning (PTP) feature that intelligently organizes your route by detecting the best places to stop, perhaps at a Point of Interest, (POI) such as a Bank or a Service Station. The v210 also features Traffic Message Channel functions (TMC), an application that continuously receives updated traffic information helping you to avoid traffic jams almost in real-time. For Germany, France and UK the v210 features TrafficSam Technology using the Premium TMC services from TMCpro (Germany), Via Michelin (France) and TrafficMaster (Great Britain).
