‘3’ opens own store in Waterford

‘3’ is investing almost half a million euros in its new Waterford store with an on-going expenditure of half a million euros per year. The Waterford 3Store on Blackfriars Street is the second mobile media store ever to open in Ireland, the first opening in Cork last Friday. Over 20 “3Stores” will open in prime retail locations in shopping centres and High Streets, bringing mobile media stores to Ireland for the first time.

3’s mobile media stores sports play pods and benches, entertainment bays, and even chill-out areas designed to allow user’s 3’s products and services, whilst finding the right handsets and tariffs for them. It is planned that up to eight 3Stores before the busy Christmas period. In 2007, ‘3’ will open up to three stores per month to hit its target of nationwide coverage.

‘3’ recently announced that its products and services were on sale in over 270 outlets nationwide through Xtra-vision; Carphone Warehouse; 3G stores and independent outlets. 3’s own store roll-out is dramatically increasing its direct retail distribution ensuring ‘3’ will have a nationwide chain of stores by the end of 2007.
