3 Ireland has said that it is challenging the mobile industry to put an end to high international roaming charges with the launch of its new pricing scheme, 3 Like Home.
The scheme, says the company, gives Irish globe-trotters and jet-setters a cheaper way to keep in touch while abroad and marks an end to extra roaming charges for customers on 3, by only charging customers domestic rates for using 3 networks abroad. The UK, Italy, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong, Sweden and Denmark are among countries where there are other 3 networks for which the scheme applies and includes use of existing minutes, text and data bundles to make voice and video calls, send texts, picture and video messages, and also internet usage from handsets. 3Pay customers roaming abroad on a 3 network now benefit from standard domestic rates for calls, texts and data, just like home
3 Like Home also means users are not being charged to receive calls when abroad.
