Innovate Business Technologies, a Wexford-based provider of technology and telecoms has been named the overall winner at the National Enterprise Awards 2012 held at the Mansion House in Dublin last night.

The National Enterprise Awards is organised by the County and City Enterprise Boards to recognise the achievements of Ireland’s micro-enterprises.

Innovate’s managing director Jim Hughes came from a farming background where money was tight and this is one of the factors that motivates him to maintain a solid cash-flow base. He left a senior role in IT Management to set up the company which now employs nine people and is based at Knockmullen Business Park, Gorey, Co Wexford.

Innovate was established in 2005 and now has a turnover in excess of €1.4 million. It has developed the ground-breaking telecoms product VoiceGrid. The company also has strong cloud solutions coming on stream, including a server platform, cloud e-mail platform and cloud security solution.
