TripAdvisor issued coding challenge to Ireland’s developer community ahead of next month’s Web Summit.

In partnership with the Summit, TripAdvisor has created a daily coding competition open to developers attending the event, with prizes for those able to solve coding puzzles themed around travel and the Summit, including VIP access to an exclusive developers lounge.

A new challenge will be issued on each of the three days of the event, with both the difficulty and rewards increasing each day.

“We know Ireland is home to the cream of the crop in the coding world and that the Summit brings together an even larger group of highly skilled engineers, so we’ve created this challenge as a way to directly engage, and challenge, that talent pool,” said Lars Holzman, director of engineering at TripAdvisor Ireland.

“Since opening a dedicated engineering hub in Dublin last year it has been great to be part of the buzz surrounding the world-class developer community that is growing here, and we’re always on the lookout for great engineering talent to join our team.”

TripAdvisor’s presence in Dublin has grown significantly since opening a dedicated engineering hub in the city in September 2013. The Dublin hub is now the largest TripAdvisor engineering office of its kind outside the US, with a team of more than 20 helping to deliver new and improved features to TripAdvisor’s platforms around the world.

Paddy Cosgrave, founder of the Web Summit. added: “Over the three days of the Web Summit this year we have a builder’s stage with dedicated content and exhibitors for those developing and building technology. The developer’s lounge is part of what will hopefully be a special experience for all the coders, engineers and developers.”
