Tech luminaries shine at Excellence Awards

Denis O’Brien received the lifetime achievement award at the Tech Excellence Awards held last night at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin.

The gala event was attended by almost 500 luminaries from the technology sector, who gathered to celebrate a year of innovation and commercial success.

Also recognised on the night were Viatel for company of the year, Justin Keatinge of Version 1 for person of the year, and Prospr in the rising star category.

A special presentation was made to Cathriona Hallahan, managing director of Microsoft Ireland to celebrate the company’s 30 years in Ireland.

Finally, the award for multinational of the year was accepted by Intel, represented on the night by country manager for Ireland Colin Mac Hale.

The Awards were adjudicated by industry experts Eoin O’Driscoll (Forfas), Dr Jim Mountjoy (Euristix), Tom McCarthy (HelmAG), Peter McManamon (Parthus Technologies), Dr Seán Baker (IONA Technologies), and Karl Flannery (Storm Technology).
