The Cork firm SouthWestern, a provider of outsourced managed services, has begun trading as Capita Customer Solutions.

The company was acquired by Capita in August 2014, and employs 600 people in Ireland, with a further 300 in Poland and the UK.

“We are a well-established Irish company,” said Paddy Morrissey, managing director, Capita Customer Solutions, “and through our service delivery we interact with a significant number of homes and businesses nationwide every year. Since being acquired by Capita, we have built a fantastic platform and are poised for even greater growth in the future.”

“We look forward to working with new and existing clients to develop innovative solutions for their future needs. We have very ambitious plans for the expansion of the business over the next couple of years, and will continue to put the customer at the centre of everything we do.”

The company said it can now offer a large and diverse range of services to clients in the agriculture, food, telecommunications, travel, energy and media industries. These include Iarnród Éireann, Independent News and Media, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Failte Ireland and the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB).

The rebrand comes as Capita moves to create a more integrated business model across Ireland, which will be referred to as Capita Ireland. Capita employs more than 1,700 people in the Republic of Ireland, and the Capita Ireland group will comprise several individual firms delivering financial services, IT services, e-procurement and customer management. Each individual company will continue to trade primarily under its own brand, the company said.

“Capita Ireland is the realisation of a long-held strategy to fully leverage the capabilities of all of our businesses in Ireland,” said Robbie Hughes, country manager, Capita Ireland. “With the backing of a UK FTSE100 group, Capita’s businesses managed in Ireland have been going from strength to strength. This move underscores our commitment to growing our businesses further and expanding the proposition we can offer to existing and prospective clients here.”
