Unity Technology Solutions has announced the completion of a contract to centralise and virtualise Sherry FitzGerald’s entire server and storage platform at their new Headquarters in Ballsbridge. The contract includes the design and implementation of a server infrastructure upgrade as well as post-project support services with Sherry FitzGerald.

Brian Dooley, associate director and IT manager, Sherry FitzGerald, said: "Sherry FitzGerald identified a need to upgrade its existing server infrastructure and consolidate all of its disparate information into a single location. Following a successful evaluation phase, it was determined that a centrally deployed virtualised solution incorporating Dell Servers, EqualLogic SAN’s and VMware vSphere as the hypervisor layer addressed Sherry FitzGerald’s needs while also relying on the Microsoft System Centre management console to provide us with full visibility of our entire Server 2008 Infrastructure. As our mail platform was also coming to end of life we were keen to upgrade to MS Exchange 2010 at this time to reap the benefits of this in parallel to the server upgrade.

Andrew Miller, head of sales and marketing, Unity Technology Solutions, said: "This is another important contract for Unity Technology Solutions as we continue to establish our credentials as one of Ireland’s fastest growing ICT Services suppliers. We demonstrated an understanding of Sherry FitzGerald’s unique requirements whilst remaining focussed on delivering on time and within budget."
