IT infrastructure and power giant Schneider Electric has launched a system called HyperPod, which it says can speed the deployment of IT infrastructure by more than 20%, while providing 15-20% savings in cost when compared to traditional IT deployments.

HyperPod is described as a rack ready system that can deploy IT in increments of 8 to 12 racks, determined with the support of an online configurator. Part of the longstanding EcoStruxure for Data Center architecture, HyperPod’s pod style architecture comes with integrated power, cooling, cabling, software management and containment, all of which enables racks of IT equipment to roll into place, significantly reducing complexity and the time associated more traditional IT equipment deployments.

The free, online rule-based designer can be used to build and customise the pods with a variety of options, for use by either partners or end users. It has options ifor containment only, mini and large cantilevers, cable trays, distribution cabinets, multiple roof options, windows, blanking panels, doors, lighting kits and power raceways.

The HyperPod system can be deploy in single pods or in extended pod configurations, and on-site assembly training and services are also available.

“Our customers wanted a streamlined and more cost-efficient way to deploy IT, one that keeps up with the pace of business, and we listened” said Steven Carlini, Senior Director, Innovation, Schneider Electric. “With deployment times up to 21 percent faster, HyperPod delivers 15 to 20% savings in time and costs over traditional approaches.”
