Renaissance Contingency Services, the IT security distributor and specialist in business continuity and disaster recovery, has won an award at the annual Resilience Awards, run by the Emergency Planning Society (EPS).

The most innovative product award was given collectively for Renaissance’s part in the authorship of a book entitled "Business Continuity for Dummies", a guide for smaller companies in understanding and implementing business continuity practices.

The creation of the book was a cooperative effort between various organisations, including the UK Cabinet Office and the Business Continuity Institute and the Emergency Planning Society.

Michael Conway, founder and director of Renaissance, who penned a chapter in the book was pleased with the recognition and the attention for an important area of business for smaller companies.

"I am delighted that the hard work which went into developing and delivering the Dummies Guide for Business Continuity has been recognised," said Conway. "I was lucky enough to be an editor working with a team of industry experts who contributed on the book. This group set out with a single focus and that was to bring Business Continuity into the public arena and take out some of the perceived complexities and deliver a book which would be practical and useful to all sizes of organisations and businesses in order to help them develop and implement a Business Continuity strategy and ultimately a resilient business."
