Analytics and cloud specialist company Pivotal has appointed Kevin Flanagan as general manager for Ireland.

Pivotal said that in his new role, Flanagan be responsible for increasing the company’s presence in the Irish market and establishing a multi-faceted strategy to support customers worldwide, as well as driving its ambitious expansion plans across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Over the past 15 years, Flanagan has held senior leadership and transformation roles in the IT industry, most recently at EMC where he established and led an EMEA sales organisation. Prior to that, he worked in the UK and Australia across a number of industries including IT, management consultancy and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).

Spun out of EMC and VMware, the company said it is pioneering ‘Digital Disruption’ across a range of industry sectors, helping enterprises to provide their customers with exciting, data-driven experiences. Flanagan will drive Pivotal’s technical strategy and innovation programme forward across the region, in line with the vision and business ethos of CEO, Paul Maritz.

Flanagan appointment coincides with Pivotal’s growing investment in the Irish digital market, and expansion of its offices in the technology hub, County Cork. The company is planning to create a significant number of jobs over the next three years in the region, as well as open a second office in the country later in the year.

“Kevin’s appointment marks a significant moment for Pivotal as part of our global expansion and highlights our commitment to expanding our footprint across the region,” said Alan Coad, vice president and general manager EMEA, Pivotal. “We’re delighted to welcome Kevin to our senior team to drive the next phase of business growth, and his strategic vision and extensive business acumen will be an asset from day one.”
