NetNeutrals EU, an online dispute resolutions platform, is establishing its European headquarters and business operations centre in Dublin, creating 20 jobs in the next three years.

The key functions of the Dublin base will include management, sales and marketing support, programme administration and finance.

Based on Eurostat data, consumers experience more than 2.7 million unresolved EU consumer disputes each year. According to the new EU regulation, all online traders have a legal obligation to include a link to the newly created EU ODR (online dispute resolution) platform, as well as informing consumers that they are linked to a certified alternative dispute resolution scheme. NetNeutrals EU is uniquely positioned to support businesses to deliver on this requirement.

As the only privately-owned company in Ireland currently supplying this service, NetNeutrals EU, operated by DeMars & Associates, draws on over 25 years of experience in the e-commerce, automotive, home improvements and travel industries. E-commerce presents unique challenges for resolving disputes, whether it be a question of legal jurisdiction, language differences, geographical or time differences.

Jo deMars, president of NetNeutrals EU, said: “Every day people experience difficulties with the things or services they buy. Whether it’s a delayed flight, an online purchase that arrives broken or an over charge, problems happen. Sorting out disputes takes time, energy and a certain level of dedication. Online dispute resolution offers a quick, fair system for settling complaints.

“NetNeutrals has been providing ODR for consumers and companies like eBay for more than 10 years. We are delighted to bring our EU headquarters to Ireland and look forward to developing a scheme tailored to these needs.

Net Neutrals EU made the decision to come to Ireland in part becuase of ConnectIreland, an initiative that rewards citizens for attracting foreign companies.

Joanna Murphy, CEO, ConnectIreland, said: “As e-shopping becomes more and more prevalent, the services offered by NetNeutrals EU are becoming increasingly important to ensure consumer satisfaction. We are delighted that NetNeutrals EU has recognised the business benefits of locating in Dublin and wish them every success in the future”.

DeMars added: “NetNeutrals chose to establish its EU presence in Ireland due to the readily available, highly educated and multilingual work force. Dublin is easily accessed, whether from our Wisconsin office or the UK office. ConnectIreland’s support has been very valuable in our setup and transition to providing services internationally.”
