Meteor, HEAnet give students and teachers new deal on mobile data

Meteor is offering reduced rate 4G mobile broadband to 180,000 third level students and some 50,000 primary, second and third level educators under a three-year partnership with HEAnet.

Under the deal, customers can choose from a 30-day SIM-only offer or six-month mobile broadband contract with a choice of 4G dongle or other compatible mobile Wi-Fi  device.

There is also a choice of data services with a 25Gb allowance for €9.99 or €19.99 for a 50Gb allowance.

Meteor head of product Kealan Donoghue said: “Meteor will be providing students with competitively priced, reliable mobile broadband offers plus access to Meteor’s 4G network to help them navigate successfully through academic and social life – both key parts of being a student. We’re delighted to introduce these offers and hope we play our part in speeding up study, research and making term time hassle-free for students and staff in HEAnet institutions across Ireland.”
