Let’s Operate, an Irish-owned cloud computing company, has set out to recruit up to 25 resellers to roll out its hosted virtual desktop service to the domestic market. Let’s Operate provides client companies with desktop business software, file access and e-mail via the cloud, thereby eliminating the need to pay for servers, software or monthly IT maintenance contracts. It also allows firms to take any existing business software to the cloud.

Founded in 2008 by former UCD Quinn School of Business lecturer in Information Systems, David Owens (pictured), Let’s Operate has won the exclusive rights to distribute Nasstar’s hosted desktop service in the Republic of Ireland.

The company already has 20 Irish customers including Home Instead Senior Care and Headhunt International Recruitment.

“We view this as a major opportunity for Irish resellers as most SME client companies are now talking about implementing cloud even if they haven’t done it so far. Our service, which can be own-branded by the reseller, will be a valuable addition to their offerings,” said Owens.

“Apart from axing IT costs, our service goes beyond offerings like Microsoft 365 as it allows users to ‘cloudify’ all their existing business software and access it from anywhere on any device. The cloud computing market is set to explode for SMEs and we researched the global market to find the right match for Ireland.”
