Irish organisations are already deploying and leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, such as machine-to-machine technology and internet-connected sensors.

Almost a third (30%) of Irish organisations say they are already using IoT technologies, according to the early results of the TechBeat IoT survey, in association with Equinix.

Of those organisations, 41% will increase their deployments of IoT technologies in 2017, nearly 1 in 10 by more than 50%.

More than a third (35%) say IoT technology is useful to their organisations, while 14% say it is very important or essential. The expectation among respondents was that, in five years, it would be essential to one in five.

The survey is ongoing, and to participate, go to www.techpro.ie/survey, with a chance to win a top tech prize.
