Hewlett-Packard is partnering with computer security company FireEye to give it a technological edge in detecting and investigating cyberattacks.

FireEye’s threat detection and incident response capabilities will be incorporated into HP’s Enterprise Services. The companies are planning to offer an “industry standard reference architecture” cantered around advanced threat protection and incident response, according to an announcement from the RSA security conference in San Francisco.

The two companies will have a Global Incident Response team to investigate cyberattacks and offer an Advanced Compromise Assessment service, which will evaluate whether a company has been breached.

The partnership with FireEye may prove beneficial for HP. The computer security market continues to grow, as more and more companies have been affected by costly data breaches. FireEye’s Mandiant division has been widely called on by large companies for data breach investigations.

HP has been struggling to find new areas of growth. In November, it announced it would split into two companies: Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, composed of its enterprise hardware, software and services businesses. The other is HP Inc., made up of its PC and printing businesses.
