Fleetmatics Group, a provider of mobile workforce software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for SMEs and enterprises, has announced plans add up to 75 research and development jobs at its head office in Tallaght by 2018.

The plans include the establishing of a network operations centre in Tallaght – a custom built facility for operations and application support engineers.

“While we are growing and expanding Fleetmatics across our major international markets, it is important that we continue to invest here where it all began,” said Peter Mitchell, co-founder and chief technology officer, Fleetmatics.

“Here in Ireland we are spoiled with an incredible talent pool in R&D. We attract them to Fleetmatics by offering engineers and product managers an opportunity to work on leading edge UX, SaaS, Mobile, IoT and data analytics projects – all of which help rapidly transform our customers’ businesses and truly make a difference. And of course, they get to be involved in a great Irish tech story.”

The company was founded in 2004, employing about 10 people in its first year of operation. Fleetmatics completed its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, and employs over 1,200 people worldwide, serving an estimated 737,000 vehicles under subscription and approximately 37,000 customers in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, UK, and US.
