Eircom appoints new CIO and CFO

Eircom has announced the appointments of Huib Costermans as group chief financial officer and Erik Slooten as chief information officer.

The company said that Costermans would also be appointed as an executive director of the board of eircom Limited. Both will take up their roles in August.

Eircom reported that Costermans is an experienced telecommunications executive with deep operational finance knowledge who has worked with Dutch operator KPN for the past seven years in a number of roles, including CFO for its wholesale and operations functions, CFO of E-Plus in Germany and CFO of KPN’s Dutch operations. Previously, ore joining KPN, Costermans had spent 16 years in various roles with Organon, a Dutch pharmaceutical company that was part of Akzo Nobel.

Slooten joins eircom from T-Mobile in the Czech Republic, where he held the post of regional vice president for Processes and Systems. Previously, Slooten was CIO of GTS, also in the Czech Republic. He was also CIO at Vivacom in Bulgaria.
