The ‘anything-as-a-service’ wave has gained further momentum as E-MIT Solutions launches its Firewall as a Service.

The new service will provide Irish businesses with a cloud-managed unified threat management (UTM) system that boasts real-time security intelligence.

Users of the service, say the provider, will be protected from unwanted intrusions and data breaches including targeted security attacks, malware, spyware and viruses.

E-MIT said it is the first IT company to deliver Dell SonicWALL firewall as a service to the Irish market. The company will host and manage a full suite of SonicWALL technologies and applications, which it will provide via secure cloud to users throughout Ireland. For a fixed monthly fee and no upfront costs, businesses will have their IT infrastructures, applications and devices actively managed and protected 24×7 from increasingly sophisticated security threats.

Accredited security consultants based in E-MIT’s managed service centre will provide active monitoring of client networks of all sizes and complexities. They will have complete visibility of network traffic and will diagnose, make changes and resolve issues quickly, the company said. Regular reporting of all firewall activity is included as part of the service.

DELL SonicWALL engineers will provide an additional layer of support and up-to-date information about the latest global security threats.

“E-MIT has demonstrated that it has the market knowledge and expertise to be one of the leading providers of managed security in Ireland,” said Liam Halpin, general manager, Dell Ireland. “We’re delighted that it has built its new service offering around our Dell SonicWALL firewall technologies so that Irish businesses can enjoy more comprehensive protection from the latest security threats. E-MIT is a great addition to our team of channel partners in Ireland.”

Eamon Moore, managing director, E-MIT Solutions, said that the new service provides an exciting prospect and a significant opportunity for growth for the company.

“It’s fantastic to be able to offer Dell SonicWALL as part of this new service. Dell is not only providing us with world-class, proven technologies but also invaluable levels of support, training and expertise,” said Moore.

E-MIT was recently appointed as a Dell Preferred partner in Ireland.
