Take a walk through the historic streets of London
There is certainly no shortage of museums in London, but the streets themselves are an important part of the city’s history. Using Museum of London: Streetmuseum for iPhone you can browse through the extensive collections of the Museum of London as you walk through the capital.
Using your iPhone’s built in GPS you can select a destination from the map and locate somewhere nearby that the museum has information about. When you arrive at the relevant street or landmark you can then hold up your iPhone to be presented with an historic view of the location as it would have looked in the past.
Additional information about places, people and events can be accessed through the app, and it does an excellent job of making history and interactive activity.
Even if you don’t have an iPhone with GPS, or you just don’t fancy travelling through the city, the map pushpins can still be used to learn more about particular locations. But the Museum of London: Streetmuseum app really shines when you can take full advantage of the augmented reality component
Final Verdict: Museum of London: Streetmuseum for iPhone will give you a completely different view of London, and is entertaining and wonderfully informative.
