Niamh Townsend has been appointed as general manager of Dell Ireland.

Townsend is responsible for driving Dell’s business on the island of Ireland, delivering a wide range of services, solutions and products to its diverse range of customers in the public and private sector.

Townsend is also a member of the Ireland Leadership Forum, a group which provides strategic direction and governance to Dell’s sites in Cork, Limerick and Dublin.

Joining Dell in 2010, Townsend took up the role as a technical sales manager for UK Small Medium Business and later in 2012 progressed to senior sales manager. In these roles, she was responsible for managing technical sales reps to support growth of the enterprise business.

Prior to the position as general manager, Townsend led Dell’s Enterprise Solutions Team, and was responsible for leading and proactively motivating a team of direct and channel pre-sales team members, including domain specialists, to grow enterprise solutions business in Ireland.

Before joining Dell, Townsend held the position of business process manager at Donnelly Fruit & Veg, and before that held a series of managerial positions at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Townsend succeeds Liam Halpin who is now executive director, Dell Client Solutions for Western Europe.
