Dell is creating 100 research and development (R&D) roles at its Limerick Campus. This investment builds on an announcement in October which saw 60 roles added to its R&D Centre in Dublin.  With the creation of the two Centres Ireland will become a central development hub for Dell’s Innovation Technology team.

The Limerick team will work closely with the team based in Cherrywood, Co. Dublin and around the world to support and drive Dell’s digital transformation strategy.

Dell chief information officer Paul J. Walsh said: “We know that the level of technical talent in Ireland is great and we’re excited to tap into it, augmenting the existing talent that we have here already. Today’s announcement represents a significant milestone in our plan for Ireland to become a central development hub for Dell’s Innovation Technology team… The efforts of the IT team in Ireland will serve a critical role in driving our Dell IT innovation efforts and positioning Dell as a true end-to-end IT solutions provider.”

Aongus Hegarty, president, Dell EMEA said: “It’s a testament to the highly skilled talent available in Ireland that we’re continuing to invest in the region. Today’s announcement underscores Dell’s commitment to our operations in Ireland and highlights the significant role that our people in Limerick, Cork and Dublin play within our global business.”
