After 28 years of continuous publication, ComputerScope Magazine, Ireland’s only IT professional journal, has gained a new lease of life under a new masthead. Unlike hundreds of similar titles worldwide, the venerable title has not been a victim of changing tastes in consumption or even the inexorable rise of online material. ComputerScope has instead changed its name to TechPro, securing its future in print.

Mediateam, the publisher of ComputerScope, Irish Computer, and TechCentral.ie, has, over the last number of years, developed a range of technology brands to address the needs of the modern IT professional, from focused events in the TechFire series, to industry surveys with TechBeat and meeting the needs of the ICT channel with the TechTrade event. All of which have their online anchor in TechCentral.ie.

To provide a more consistent and uniform offering for all, Mediateam decided it was time to bring both ComputerScope and Irish Computer up to date too, and fold them into the Tech portfolio, which now includes the Tech Excellence Awards.

In the words of publisher Frank Quinn, “our new name TechPro not only helps our readers to identify clearly with our content, it also joins the dots with the related parts of a media and events portfolio focused entirely on the needs of technology professionals in Ireland.

“Among all this change, there’s a reassuring constant: good writing is good writing no matter where it’s delivered. Whether you read TechPro on your smartphone, a tablet, laptop or in print, quality journalism is more important than ever in a world of information overload.”

The new TechPro incorporates the TechTrade pages, formerly Irish Computer. In one package, IT professionals in Ireland, of all kinds, can get the ‘lean back’ in depth experience in the same easy to consume, easy-to-reference format it has always been, but now better supported by and integrated with TechCentral.ie, the Technology Minute newsletter, the events and other activities.

Mediateam, through its Tech brand portfolio now provides the most comprehensive resource for the IT professional in Ireland today.

We hope, with your support, to continue serving the IT industry in Ireland for at least another 28 years.
