Intelligent document management saves money

Despite print and document management representing a significant cost for businesses, few take full advantage of both the cost savings and sustainability benefits possible through intelligent document solutions.

Gartner principal analyst for print markets Cecile Drew, recently said that organisations can spend up to 3% of their revenues on print and document costs.

Further Gartner research has indicated that intelligent management solutions could reduce this by 30%, whereas Ricoh has indicated that savings could be even more significant, with benefits in sustainability too.

Ricoh research across Europe has shown that while 67% of senior managers set cost targets for document governance, less than half set environmental targets, and even these efforts were found to be fragmented and sporadic. Research also indicates that a minority of businesses actually audit environmental targets set.

This latest in the series of management briefings from ComputerScope will illuminate intelligent document solutions with presentations from experts in the field that will demonstrate the benefits in terms of efficiency and sustainability, but also in saving money – a major priority in the current business climate. We will outline how a decentralised approach to document governance, leads to missed opportunities for savings and efficiencies in terms of consumption, but also in business process and workflow benefits.
