Blackberry customers across Europe were on the receiving end of another data outage today but this time it had nothing to do with embattled manufacturer RIM.

A router fault on Vodafone’s network led to the brief disruption this morning, which was felt by users in Ireland and across the EMEA region.

A statement by RIM quickly assured customers the problem lay not with their technology but with Vodafone, who responded in kind by saying the fault was being dealt with.

According to a post on Vodafone’s customer service forum the issue was identified and corrected by 2.20pm today.

RIM will be receiving a sigh of relief that their technology was not at fault as it gets ready to launch a new operating system, Blackberry 10, to compete with Apple, Google and Microsoft in the mobile space.
