The rude health of Ireland’s tech sector will be seen this weekend at Career Zoo, Ireland biggest career event for professionals and graduates.

Career Zoo will showcase the large number of job vacancies available across many sectors in the economy; the potential for start-ups; and Ireland’s skills availability. In total, 2,500 jobs vacancies will be on offer, many of which are in the tech sector.

The event will take place over two days at Dublin’s Mansion House on 11 and 12 February, with 60 Irish and international companies, educators, recruiters and enterprise organisations expected to attend.

A heavy tech focus will see companies such as Twitter, Valeo Vision Systems, BioWare, AOL, McAfee, Amazon, EMC Ireland, Deloitte and Ericsson looking to network with IT professionals and graduates looking for opportunities in software development, research and development, network engineering, technical training and consultancy.

As well as recruitment, an emphasis will also be placed on skills transferability between industry sectors. Representatives from DIT, UCD Smurfit and TCD School of Business will be on hand to talk to those looking to upskill. Conversion course providers such as Skillnets will show how people can train in a different career path from their original degree.

The event is supported by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, IBEC Technology Centres, the National Recruitment Federation and Dublin City Council. Sponsors are Hays Recruiting Experts Worldwide, Skillnets, DIT and Valeo Vision Systems, who operate a major research, development and innovation centre in Galway.

Attendance is free of charge, however attendees are advised to register online to gain faster entry.
