Internet service provider BBnet has begun offering a 1Gb/s fibre-to-the-premises service for businesses in Shannon.

This significant announcement leverages Enet’s fibre infrastructure in the Shannon area and BBnet’s broadband platform and represents the culmination of a three-month network infrastructure investment by BBnet of over €200,000.

BBnet is currently one of a few providers of broadband services to businesses and residential clients across Munster – specialising in areas which would have limited or no broadband access.

Barry O’Halloran, managing director, BBnet, said: “Utilising the latest fibre technologies BBnet is now in a position to offer this super-fast connectivity to businesses in the Shannon area, re-affirming that Shannon is a key business hub within Europe.”

BBnet has offices in Clare and Limerick.
